|
Graft versus host disease remains a significant complication of haematopoietic stem cell transplantation. Patients who are steroid resistant have a poor prognosis. Extracorporeal photopheresis controls graft versus host disease through immunomodulation and allows thymic recovery and re-building of T lymphocyte repertoire.
